February 2021 New Cars on the Block

Buckle up, everybody! We’ve got a plethora of vehicles to share this month. February may be the shortest month of the year, but it’s had the most new releases since we launched this series. We’re here to bring you all the info! Pop on your reading glasses (even if you don’t need them, try it anyway—the cars are HUGE), scroll through February 2021’s New Cars on the Block and comment on your favorite vehicle on any of our social media pages

2022 Audi RS e-Tron GT

Let’s get started with a bit of luxe. With a starting MSRP of $99,000, the 2022 Audi RS e-Tron GT sure fits the bill. It’s expected to go on sale this summer. Audi describes the e-Tron GT as a “work of art” and “exhilarating.” We agree—just look at that picture! Th e-Tron sits low to the ground and is wider than the popular Audi A7. The exterior features 20-inch 5-double-spoke alloy wheels and a lightweight build. The interior comes packed with Alcantara leather and Audi’s latest dashboard technology. Audi is one of many brands to release or redesign an electric vehicle this month.

2022 Cadillac CT4-V & CT5-V Blackwing

If you’re a Cadillac fan—really who isn’t?—you might be familiar with the V-Series Blackwing models. For 2022, Cadillac is adding CT4-V and CT5-V Blackwings to its impressive roster. The main differences between the CT4 and the CT5 are the engine, horsepower, and torque. The CT5-V Blackwing comes with 668 horsepower and 659 lb-ft of torque, compared to the CT4-V Blackwing which has a still-not-too-shabby 472 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque. The 2022 CT5-V Blackwing is the most powerful production Cadillac ever. When are you going to take one of these luxury sedans around the block? We might know a certain website who can help you find one…

2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV & EV

Chevrolet is expanding their electric vehicle portfolio with the 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV and 2022 Chevy Bolt EV. We did the research for you: the “U” in the middle isn’t the only difference between the two cars. The EUV is a small SUV body type, compared to the Bolt EV’s compact shape. While the Bolt EV has been around since 2017, the Bolt EUV meets the demand of many customers who want electric SUVs. Environmentally friendly and also hauls stuff?  Yes, please! Chevy’s expansion of its electric vehicle line is a reminder of the growing popularity of electric vehicles.

2021 Ford Explorer King Ranch edition

The Ford Explorer is an icon and one of the best-selling SUVs in America.  We know what you’re thinking: Ford should develop a special edition to pay tribute to the iconic Texas ranch of the same name? Well, Ford did! The 2021 Ford Explorer King Ranch edition features artisan Mesa Del Rio leather on the interior, as well as real wood details. Ford’s partnered with King Ranch, a the largest cattle ranch in the United States, for the last 20 years. You know what they say: everything’s bigger in Texas! (Although this version of the Explorer is actually the same size as all of the other Explorers.)

2022 Hyundai IONIQ 5

Wait, that’s a Hyundai? Yes, it is! Does the name have a Q that isn’t followed by a U? Also, yes! Meet the all-new Hyundai IONIQ 5. This brand-new model is completely electric.  The midsize CUV (crossover utility vehicle) offers drivers 400 V and 800 V multi-charging options. Drivers will get to pick from nine exterior colors.  Hyundai shared that the IONIQ 5 acts as a reflection of its “commitment to sustainability by utilizing eco-friendly materials and nature-inspired colors.” OK, great. But what we really think is this: it looks sweet. The IONIQ 5 has Hyundai’s first “clamshell” hood that enhances aerodynamics. Check out the 2022 Hyundai IONIQ 5 that will be available in the first half of 2021.

2022 Hyundai Kona & Kona Electric

Hyundai revealed the redesigned 2022 Hyundai Kona and 2022 Hyundai Kona Electric SUVs. Although a familiar name to Hyundai fans, the 2022 version of the Hyundai Kona comes with some sweet upgrades: suspension enhancements for driver comfort and interior technology to accommodate the latest safety systems. Hyundai has also added an optional N Line trim for an extra sporty design element.

2022 Kia Carnival

Out with the Sedona and in with the Carnival (we here at OneRequest like parties, so we also vote for Carnival). The 2022 Kia Carnival replaces the perhaps-long-in-the-tooth Kia Sedona.  The multi-purpose vehicle has a boxy body shape that is counterbalanced with a sleek, top-notch interior. It looks like a minivan and large SUV combo, or in Kia’s words: “rugged yet refined.”. While the Kia Carnival has been offered overseas for awhile, the 2022 version will be the first one available in the United States. Drivers can choose from four different trim levels: LX, EX, SX, and SX-Prestige. The Kia Carnival is here to throw down in the US with other established large SUV and popular family vehicles. Do you like it’s chances?

2022 Lexus IS 500 F Sport Performance

The 2022 Lexus IS 500 F Sport Performance (geez, that’s a mouthful) is the first Lexus model in the F SPORT Performance line. Although its name is miles long, this vehicle comes with a 5.0 liter, V8 engine that can cover those miles in a hurry. Lexus says this first-ever Lexus IS 500 F SPORT Performance will appeal to “passionate driving enthusiasts that crave higher levels of performance over the standard F SPORT models.” What are your thoughts on the newest Lexus? We say vroom vroom.

2022 Nissan Frontier

Truck yeah! Nissan crushed it in February. They announced the all-new 2022 Nissan Frontier AND the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder (see below). First, let’s talk trucks. Nissan shared, “The all-new 2022 Nissan Frontier stays true to its past while addressing modern mid-size truck buyer needs.” Drivers can expect a pick-up that takes them from work to play. The Nissan Frontier drives well through cities, but also provides stability and strength when off-roading. How do you think the 2022 Nissan Frontier compares to other top truck models?

2022 Nissan Pathfinder

As mentioned above, Nissan recently announced the all-new 2022 Nissan Pathfinder.  The familiar Pathfinder model has been around since 1987 and has gone through several extensive redesigns since then.  The 2022 model will have an updated design with a three-notch grill.  It will also come with a 9-speed automatic transmission and intelligent 4WD with different drive and terrain modes. The 2022 Nissan Pathfinder is perfect for any adventure seeker…or for anyone who wants to look like an adventure-seeker while driving to work. We don’t judge.
