April showers, bring May… new releases! May 2021 was one for the books. Most notably, the highly anticipated Ford F-150 electric truck was finally revealed to the masses (and it is sweet). Multiple models also received significant upgrades or new trim levels. Let us know which one vaulted to the top of your “Most Wanted” list.
2022 Ford F-150 Lightning
The mighty 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning was easily the most anticipated reveal of May. As arguably the most recognized truck in the country, truck and electric vehicle fans have been waiting with bated breath ever since Ford announced it was going to produce an all-electric version. Within the first few days after the reveal, Ford received over 20,000 orders for this all-electric beauty. Like many electric vehicles, to charge the Lightning, all you need to do is plug it in. But here’s the best part. If your home is properly equipped, the all-electric Ford truck can return the favor and provide electric power to your home in case of a power outage. No wonder, the reservation list is growing daily!
2022 Nissan Pathfinder
The old-school Nissan Pathfinder has been around for years, but the 2022 version has some upgrades worth mentioning. It is larger than the previous model by 10.6 cubic feet. Who doesn’t love a little extra leg room? This is the first Pathfinder with room for up to 8 passengers, so you’ll never get lonely on your drives (or you can stick that annoying sibling in the 3rd row and drive in peace and quiet).
2022 Volkswagen Tiguan
As the best-selling Volkswagen, the Tiguan is a compact SUV, blending performance and style. The 2022 Tiguan model features an 8-inch display screen and in-car Wi-Fi capabilities. The VW Tiguan will be available to drivers in eight (!) exterior colors to help you stand out on the road. When it comes to color options, we here at OneRequest definitely think more is better. Two of the eight are sultry new entries to the Volkswagen color palette: Onyx White and Kings Red Metallic. There are four available trim levels for the 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan, but they all offer a taste of luxury and comfort.
2022 Ford Explorer Timberline
The Timberline is a new elevated trim level that will be available on the 2022 Ford Explorer. It’s built to “explore” (see what we did there?) the outdoors and handle a wide variety of off-road terrain. According to Ford, this is the most off-road capable Explorer ever made. The Timberline features increased ground clearance, steel skid plates, all-terrain tires, and new shocks, just to name a few. Ford clearly designed the Timberline with the adventurer in mind. What are your thoughts?
2022 Genesis G70 Shooting Brake
Unfortunately, this bad boy is only available to drivers in Europe, which means you can’t yet request it on www.onerequest.com (our internal model schedules OneRequest international domination for 2023). But who cares—it’s a sweet car and that’s what we look at here, right? The 2022 Genesis G70 Shooting Brake is a transformation of the well-known Genesis G70 sedan. In case you aren’t familiar with the term “Shooting Brake,” it is a vehicle body style with European roots that is similar to a wagon style. (Your trivia team will thank you later.)
2023 Subaru Solterra
We don’t have much on the 2023 Subaru Solterra. Only this sneak peek photo Subaru shared on social media. Holy solar flare! Did JJ Abrams take that picture? We will keep our eyes peeled for announcements on the Solterra in the future. This will be a vehicle to watch!
